Sartorius metrology expert Veronika Martens receives OIML Medal
High recognition of her achievements in international metrology
Veronika Martens, who holds a university degree in physics, has been active for many years in international organizations, including committees and boards, that deal with and draft legal requirements and regulations of metrology. For more than 20 years, she has been a member of the European umbrella association of weighing instrument manufacturers, known as CECIP (Comité Européen des Constructeurs d'Instruments de Pesage). A highly dedicated President of the Legal Metrology Group (LMG) in CECIP, she has been representing the interests of the European weighing industry in the global OIML organization since 2008.
Veronika Martens is a member of the Board of Trustees of the German national metrology institute Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), and has been working at Sartorius for more than 40 years. She headed the Sartorius Metrology Center for more than 20 years before retiring last year, passing the baton to her successor, Karlheinz Banholzer.
