Supplier of convector fluids and industrial lubricants celebrates its 50th company anniversary

Success thanks to courage for change and new visions

18-Jul-2013 - Germany

"Simply bathing is not enough, you also have to change the water occasionally": This cheerful anniversary motto is perfectly suited to the company story of FRAGOL GmbH + Co. KG: The company was formed by a spin-off from the current Brenntag AG, with a 50 percent stake held by the German TOTAL GmbH. The company started with more than 100 employees and over the last five decades the courage to make changes has made this company into a leading suppliers of convector fluids and industrial lubricants. Since 2004, FRAGOL has been owner-operated and 100 percent family-owned. In 2012, the company had 25 permanent employees and a sales volume of 12.4 million euros.

Things have increased rapidly, in particular since the management buyout. Today, the company has the widest range of convector fluids in the temperature range from -115°C to +400°C in Europe. The convector fluids are delivered to companies in various industries; from energy and environmental technology, large chemical industry, pharmaceutical and food industry, automotive industry and machine building to the wood-working industry and building services. In parallel to the growing range of products, our engineers and chemists have developed our own products in the company's laboratory. Here, they also offer customers professional analysis tests for their convector fluids.

This tried and tested recipe for success is currently used in the second business area, industrial lubricants. Three new employees arrived in 2011 alone. The focus is on special coagulant and vacuum pump oils, lubricants for the food area that require special licences, environmentally-friendly lubricants, as well as synthetic gear oils and synthetic flame-resistant hydraulic oils. Today, 10 percent of our customers come from abroad; this number should increase dramatically over the next few years.
