Oil and gas production in the North Sea

Bilfinger extends service agreements with Statoil and Marathon Oil with a total volume of €130 million

25-Jun-2013 - Germany

The engineering and services group Bilfinger has extended comprehensive framework agreements for the maintenance of oil and gas production facilities in the North Sea. The agreements with energy companies Statoil and Marathon Oil run for periods of three years and have a total value of €130 million.

Gas liquefaction in Northern Norway

At the gas liquefaction plant on the island of Melköya near the Norwegian city of Hammerfest, Bilfinger provides extensive maintenance services for insulation, scaffolding and corrosion protection. As one of Statoil's most important service partners, the company has been active for many years in Europe's largest gas liquefaction plant. There, natural gas pumped from the Snöhvit gas field more than 160 kilometers offshore in the Barents Sea is processed for further transport.

Offshore platforms in Scotland

The long-standing collaboration with Marathon Oil for the maintenance of the offshore drilling platforms Brae Alpha, Brae Bravo and East Brae off the Scottish coast has also been extended. The service agreements cover maintenance services including work at heights and electrical engineering as well as the inspection of plant components.

Just a few weeks ago, Bilfinger received a major order from its long-standing client Chevron valued at over €60 million for maintenance services at several offshore platforms in the North Sea.
