ThyssenKrupp Uhde acquires Otto Corporation in Japan
As part of its drive to expand its market presence in the field of coke plant technologies, ThyssenKrupp Uhde of Dortmund, Germany, has acquired the Tokyo-based company Otto Corporation. This acquisition is the result of very close business relations over many years. Otto Corporation, whose process portfolio fits ideally with ThyssenKrupp Uhde’s fields of activity, will in future operate in Japan as a wholly owned subsidiary under the name of ThyssenKrupp Otto.
Back in 1952 Nihon Otto K. K. of Tokyo was founded as a subsidiary of Dr. C. Otto GmbH of Bochum, Germany, and from 1991 onwards it became an independent company trading under the name of Otto Corporation.
ThyssenKrupp Uhde hopes to expand its market presence in the Asian region through its acquisition of Otto Corporation.
