Dow Holds Grand Opening at New Thailand Elastomers Plant

The Dow Chemical Company announced its new Thailand polyolefin elastomers plant that began commercial operation June 1, 2011 is operating at its stated capacity, signifying another successful start-up of a new world-class manufacturing facility for the Company.   Dow celebrated this milestone with a grand opening event at the facility on September 20, 2011.

A project of the SCG-Dow joint venture, the new manufacturing facility has added growth capacity to meet increasing worldwide customer demand for a full range of Dow’s state-of-the-art elastomer products.

The opening of the plant in Rayong Province, Thailand, is further illustration of Dow’s investment in downstream performance businesses. Dow Elastomers now has seven production trains on three continents to better serve its global customers.  This facility has also enhanced service to customers in the region with shortened lead times and increased focus.
