Torsten Olschewski appointed as Business Unit Head at Analytik Jena AG
With effect from October 1, 2010, Torsten Olschewski, as Business Unit Head, will be taking overall responsibility for Analytical Instrumentation, the largest division at Analytik Jena AG. His new position also includes Research and Development, in addition to the fields of Sales, Product Management, Marketing and Service. With this restructuring, the Thuringia-based technology group is consolidating key functions according to area and thus underscoring its strategic commitment to its three pillars of Analytical Instrumentation, Life Science and Optics.
Mr. Olschewski, aged 45, was among the first employees of the company and is also celebrating his 20th anniversary this year. He has many years of sales experience in the industry in the field of classical analytical measuring technology and has been instrumental in forming and developing the international sales organization of Analytik Jena AG in the past two decades.
In the continually growing key division of Analytical Instrumentation, with its almost 400 employees, the company is focusing its expertise in traditional atomic spectrometry, molecular spectroscopy, elemental analysis and sum parameter analysis as well as LIMS software. In the first nine months, Analytik Jena generated sales of EUR 35.9 million.
