Kömmerling opens new sealant and adhesive production facility in China
Commenting on the new development, Dick Spalton, Managing Director, Kömmerling Europe, said; “This new plant is a response to the growing demands from our customers in the rapidly expanding Asian market. Whilst some of our more established markets are still struggling to come out of recession, demand for our products and expertise in the Far East is continuing to grow. With the opening of this plant we will be able to provide our customers with a far more efficient and economic supply chain, which will reduce both freight costs and delivery times.”
The plant, which utilises raw materials produced in Asia, is already producing Polysulphides for the IG market and silicone based products will come on line in the next few months. The Nanjing plant will also have capacity to manufacture butyl and polyurethane sealants in 2011. The new plant complements Adco Global’s existing production units based in the U.S.A. and Germany.
