Thorsten Schlechtriem, new Managing Director of GUS Holding GmbH: "With its clear focus on the process industry, the GUS Group has industry-specific solutions in its DNA."

On April 1, 2024, Thorsten Schlechtriem (52) took over the management of GUS Holding GmbH. As Group CEO, he is now also responsible for all subsidiaries of the GUS Group. In addition to GUS ERP GmbH, these are GUS Switzerland, Brückner System, dibac software, Nexiga, Sopra System, GUS LAB, DORNER, MELOS and MELOS Digital Network. As Managing Director, he is primarily responsible for strategy, product development, sales and operations.

Schlechtriem succeeds the previous Managing Director Ekkehard Ziesche, who has decided to leave the company and take up a new challenge elsewhere. Ziesche has played a key role in shaping the GUS Group over more than two decades and has helped it to achieve its current size and customer focus.

Thorsten Schlechtriem is moving from EASY Software to the GUS Group. At EASY, he most recently managed the company's operational business as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this, he was responsible for sales in the SME and ERP sector at software provider SAGE for over ten years.

First and foremost, Schlechtriem wants to further develop the GUS Group's products with a view to new customer requirements and technologies. He sees an even stronger focus on the CIS target industries of food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, medical technology, cosmetics, milk production and logistics as a guiding principle. This increased verticalization is intended to further increase the added value for customers of CIS solutions.

"Thorsten Schlechtriem is an experienced enterprise software manager with extraordinary expertise in the SME segment," says Matthias Siekmann, CEO of the GENII Software Group, which also includes the companies of the GUS Group. "He understands exactly what the GUS Group's customers need and can therefore provide further added value quickly and in a targeted manner. We are delighted to have gained someone who has this intuition for the customer needs of the CIS target markets and can use it profitably for all parties involved."

"I am looking forward to being able to help develop the GUS Group strategically," says the new GUS CEO Thorsten Schlechtriem. "My heart has been beating for many years for the business software business, because it is an integral part of value creation in companies. With its clear focus on the process industry, the GUS Group has industry-specific solutions in its DNA. It is therefore also one of the ERP market leaders in this sector. I want to further consolidate this position, above all by further developing the products through additional verticalization and expanding the GUS technology expertise."
