Dow Izolan Inaugurates its State-of-the-Art Polyurethane Systems Manufacturing Plant in Vladimir, Russia

07-Jan-2010 - Russian Federation

Dow Izolan, the joint venture company formed in 2006 between The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) and Izolan, officially inaugurated its new state-of-the-art polyurethane (PU) systems manufacturing facility in Vladimir, Russia. The facility will produce a broad range of rigid and flexible foam PU systems for a variety of applications including construction, automotive, consumer, footwear, furniture and appliance. The output from the new plant will further enhance Dow Izolan’s offering and delivery terms to its customers in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

“Despite the challenging global economic environment, we have kept our promise and completed the plant as scheduled,” said Juan Antonio Merino, general manager, Dow Formulated Systems, a global business unit of Dow. “Dow Izolan offers an expanded portfolio of specialized, value added products that enable our customers’ success in their respective markets. The plant – one of the best designed and equipped PU systems facilities in the world – leverages Dow’s 60-year PU chemistry experience and Vladimir’s long tradition in PU science and technology. It is yet another example of Dow’s commitment to the global polyurethanes industry and to our customers in Russia and the CIS, specifically,” Merino said.

The construction and start-up of the plant coincides with the 35th anniversary of Dow’s continued business presence in Russia.
