next generation of high clarity copolyester introduced by Eastman
KINGSPORT, Tenn, May 30, 2002-Eastman Chemical Company today announces the introduction of Spectar Clear copolyester.
A new copolyester, Spectar Clear achieves measurably improved sheet clarity and edge color while maintaining the performance characteristics for which Spectar copolyester has become known in the industry.
"A direct result of our drive to offer differentiated products and new, innovative solutions to our customers, Spectar Clear is the latest entry in our expanding portfolio of Eastman Specialty Plastics," notes Dr. Phillip Griswold, vice president and general manager of Eastman's Specialty Plastics business. "It offers the thermoformability and ease of fabrication of Spectar copolyester along with significantly improved clarity."
Spectar Clear also offers approximately double the notch impact strength, 50% higher instrumented impact strength and better chemical resistance when compared to traditional Spectar.
Spectar Clear joins Spectar, Spectar Colors, Spectar Green Edge, and Spectar Frost in meeting specific needs in the in-store fixtures and display market.
