Filipe Constant (Solvay) is new Euro Chlor Chairman

At its recent Annual General Meeting, the Management Committee of Euro Chlor, has elected a new Chairman. Filipe Constant, Senior Executive Vice President, General Manager of the Solvay Business Unit electrochemistry and Derived Specialties, took over this function from Werner Fuhrmann (AkzoNobel) for a one year period.

Filipe Constant is Senior Executive Vice President, General Manager of the SBU Electrochemistry and Derived Specialties, one of the worldwide Business Units of the Solvay group (Chemicals Sector), an international group with headquarters in Brussels. He is a member of the Management Committee of Euro Chlor since 2007.

Filipe Constant has been active in multidisciplinary areas of the Chemicals Sector of Solvay for 24 years now. He started his career at Solvay in Soda Ash production in Portugal, after which he worked for Marketing and Sales in Spain for several businesses (Specialty Chemicals, Soda Ash, Electrochemistry), and subsequently became General Manager for Portugal. He went back in Spain as Commercial Director for the Chemicals Sector for Spain & Portugal and later took over the management of the European Commercial Operations, based in Brussels.

He obtained his university degree in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal and Alpha Program (Business Administration) in INSEAD, France.
