Gerresheimer expands in America Acquisition in Mexico taps new growth potential in North and Central America In the growth market of pharmaceutical packaging, the Gerresheimer Group has further reinforced its strong international position. With effect on 16 April 2002 it acquired all the shares in the Mexican company Ampolletas S.A. and its marketing company Kimble Enbosa Partnership. The acquisition is an important strategic milestone for Gerresheimer in the North and Central American market.
Ampolletas, based in Queretaro, Mexico, employees around 470 people in the production of high-quality products such as ampoules, vials, syringes and laboratory glassware for the pharmaceutical industry. With sales of around Euro 35 million, the company is the largest manufacturer and supplier of tubing-glass packaging for pharmaceuticals in Mexico and Central America.
