BASF increases prices for methylamines and methylamine derivatives worldwide
Methylamines are versatile chemical intermediates with a wide range of applications, such as agrochemicals, water treatment, personal care and feed additives. Dimethylformamide is a versatile organic solvent for many applications. Dimethylethanolamine serves as a key raw material for water treatment chemicals. Methyldiethanolamines have proved effective in gas treatment systems.
BASF operates three methylamine plants in Ludwigshafen, Germany; Nanjing, China; and Camaçari, Brazil, with a total combined capacity of 169,000 metric tons. BASF recently announced plans to build another methylamine plant at its Verbund site in Geismar, USA. Methylamine derivatives are produced in Ludwigshafen, Geismar, Nanjing and Camaçari.
