Projection (alchemy)Projection was the ultimate goal of Western alchemy. Once a philosopher's stone (or powder of projection) had been created, one would use the process of Projection to transmute a "lesser" substance into a "higher" form, often Lead into Gold. Additional recommended knowledgeSince alchemy never actually succeeded in creating a Philosopher's stone (see Multiplication), projection was also never performed. Typically, the process is described simply as casting the Stone into a molten base metal. |
