Naphthylisopropylamine
Naphthylisopropylamine (PAL-287) is a stimulant drug developed for the treatment of amphetamine and cocaine addiction. PAL-287 acts by releasing dopamine and serotonin.[1] Additional recommended knowledgeIn animal studies, PAL-287 was shown to reduce cocaine self-administration, yet produced relatively little stimulant effect when administered by itself, being a weaker stimulant than the comparison drug dexamphetamine.[2] PAL-287 is now under development to see whether it is a useful substitute drug for treating stimulant addiction in humans.
