Majority carriers

Majority carrier denotes the carrier which is primarily responsible for current transport in a piece of semiconductor. If an intrinsic semiconductor (which does not contain any impurity) is doped with N-type impurity then the majority carriers are electrons and if the semiconductor is doped with P-type impurity then the majority carriers are holes. The opposite goes for minority carriers.
