HornblenditeHornblendite is a plutonic rock consisting mainly of the amphibole hornblende. Hornblende rich ultramafic rocks are rare and when hornblende is the dominant mineral phase they are classified as hornblendites with qualifiers such as garnet hornblendite identifying a second abundant contained mineral.
