Guillaume Daniel Delprat



Guillaume Daniel Delprat (1 September 1856 – 15 March 1937) was a Dutch-Australian metallurgist and engineer. Born in Delft, South Holland, Delprat migrated to Australia with his wife and children in 1898 to join mining company BHP as assistant to the General Manager. He later worked as General Manager from 1899 until 1921. He was credited with pioneering the flotation process of sulphide ore separation and also laying the foundations for BHP's future commercial success.
