DHA-clozapineDHA-clozapine (trade name Clozaprexin) is an atypical antipsychotic that has been developed by Protarga. The drug has been created by the association of fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) with clozapine. The advantages of this drug is that until the DHA and clozapine are not separated the drug is inactive, once it penetrate the blood brain barrier the DHA and clozapine are freed from each others slowly by enzymatic activity and more clozapine is liberated where it is needed rendering the drug much more potent and longer active and requiring a much lower dosage which consequence is fewer side effects. The drug is not yet available. Additional recommended knowledgeSee also
