Contrast resolution

Contrast resolution is referred to as the ability of an imaging modality such as magnetic resonance imaging or fluoroscopy to distinguish between various contrasts of an acquired image.

In MRI, it is defined as:

C = \frac{S_A-S_B}{S_A+S_B}

where SA and SB are signal intensities for tissues A and B. This definition may also be applicable to other diagnostic imaging modalities in general as well.
