Christopher Busby
Additional recommended knowledgeDr Christopher Busby (Born Paignton, England 1945) is a chemist, biochemist, physicist and epidemiologist from United Kingdom. He holds a first-class Honours degree in Chemistry from the University of London and a PhD in chemical physics from the University of Kent. He is Scientific Secretary of the European Committee on Radiation Risks based in brussels and a member of the UK Department of Health Committee Examining Radiation Risk for Internal Emitters (CERRIE). He also sits on the UK Ministry of Defence Depleted Uranium Oversight Board (DUOB) and in National Speaker on Science and Technology for the Green Party of England and Wales. Chris is a fellow of the University of Liverpool in the Faculty of Medicine. He is also scientific advisor of the Low level Radiation Campaign which he helped to set up in 1995. Finally, more recently, he was appointed as Representative to the British Nuclear Test Veterans Association. Christopher is director of Green Audit, and envirnomental consultancy agency and review organisation with the aim of monitoring the performance of companies and organizations whose activities might threaten the environment and the health of citizens. Following the Chernobyl catastrophe Christopher developed his knowledge in the areas of radiation biology and epidemiology and he presently heads Green Audit's research in the field of low-level radiation and health. He is also involved in research into the philosophy of science, seeking to explain how political structures and scientific reality interact. Publications
