B.E.R.E.C.B.E.R.E.C. was formed in 1906 as the export branch of the Ever Ready battery company and stood for British Ever Ready Electrical Company = BEREC. B.E.R.E.C., like Ever Ready, ceased production in the U.K. and most of the world in 1980 when Hanson Trust plc acquired the company.[citation needed] The firm had factories in the U.K., Daimon in Germany, Superpila in Italy, Eveready in South Africa, Ever Ready in Sri Lanka.[citation needed].
