1,4-Cyclohexanedione or cyclohexanedione is a diketone that is used in the preparation of various more complex substances. It is a light yellow to yellow-beige solid at room temperature. It decomposes on heating to produce carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and other toxic and irritating fumes and gases. References
