In a region in which the landscape is characterized by the open-cast mines of the Central German lignite mining industry and the chemical industry, former miners and chemical workers have begun to heal the wounds of the past and to minimize the ecological burdens of the consumer society. This was the reason that in 1990 MUEG (Mitteldeutsche Umwelt und Entsorgung GmbH) was founded with 14 employees. REMONDIS Kommunale Dienste Ost GmbH and MIBRAG Mitteldeutsche Braunkohlengesellschaft mbH are shareholders holding equal shares.
