About Xylem
Nearly 80 years ago, the development of the glass electrode at the former Jenaer Glaswerk SCHOTT & Gen. revolutionized chemical measuring. By using new conductive glass types it was now possible to display pH values via conventional needle galvanometers. The further company history too was marked by milestones of glass manufacturing, e.g. the development of capillary viscometers and titration burettes in the early 40’s. Since 2011 the know-how in glass manufacturing, measuring technology and electronics has been bundled within the SI Analytics GmbH which is now a part of the international Xylem Inc. / Rye Brook, NY, USA .
