Edward E. Johnson founded Johnson Screens® in 1904 after inventing the first continuous slot wire wrapped well screen. Johnson’s design was a revolution in technology for the water well industry. The continuous slot screen provided more open area per square foot of screen, allowing more water into the well. In 1930, Johnson advanced well technology further with the invention of the all welded continuous slot wire wrapped well screen. Johnson Screens was not only the innovator in screening technology but also became a leader in the water well industry.
