Helsinn Chemicals Ireland Ltd complements and extends the production capacity of the Group’s chemical operations in relation to the development and manufacturing of Advanced Intermediates and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in the European Community. Almost every big pharma company operates a site in Ireland. The Group's Irish plant is ideally positioned to collaborate in this context.
Located in Dublin, Ireland, the plant commenced operations in 1993. Since then, it has been expanded to meet growing demand and continuously upgraded to current standards of technology and regulatory compliance.
The facility is operated in accordance with cGMP and is inspected on a regular basis by the Irish Medicines Board.
The production facilities include stainless steel and glass-lined reactors with individual volumes ranging from 4 to 8 cubic meters with validated computer controlled systems. The total reactor volume in this facility has increased in the past two years from 36 to 43 cubic meters. The facility also has milling, blending and Micronization capabilities.
Helsinn Chemicals Ireland Ltd also complies with EU regulations concerning Health Safety and Environmental protection (awarded ISO14001 in 1998) and has received several awards for excellence in safety management.
