BARTEC South Africa, trading as BARTEC Safety (Pty) Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of BARTEC GmbH of Germany and specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of electrical and electronic equipment for use in Hazardous Areas. In addition, the company has a long and proud history in the design, engineering, manufacture and installation of electrical trace heating systems. BARTEC South Africa is based in Florida North, Johannesburg, South Africa and comprises a staff complement of 11, dedicated to serving the industrial market in South Africa as well as the rest of the African continent.

BARTEC's company history started in 1975 with the development and production of a switch to prevent explosions at petrol stations. Today the BARTEC Group employs a staff of over 1,600 and is one of the world's leading providers of innovative safety technology.

Committed to Safety BARTEC products and solutions prevent explosions wherever hazardous substances such as flammable liquids, gases and dust could occur and keep humans safe and protect the environment. Customers primarily include companies from the oil and gas industries, chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical companies, as well as the mining sector from around the world.
